Love Chinese food? Step away from the take-out menu and join us in this 2-hour Chinese food extravaganza. We’ll begin with quick and simple way to make delicious Scallion Pancakes, just like at your favorite restaurants, along with a homemade dipping sauce. Then we’ll mix up a big batch of spicy Cold Sesame Noodles and learn the secrets to stir-frying authentic Kung Pao Chicken. Finish off by enjoying your food with wine accompaniment, and leave with recipes to recreate mouth-watering take-out in your own kitchen.

 

Diana KuanAbout the Instructor
Diana Kuan is a food writer and cooking instructor who is currently working on a Chinese cookbook for Random House/Ballantine. She grew up watching her family run Chinese restaurants and bakeries in Puerto Rico and suburban Massachusetts. After finishing a culinary arts degree in New York and working in a pastry kitchen, she packed her bags and spent two years in China, where she taught cooking classes to travelers and expats and began the popular food blog Appetite for China.

She has appeared on “The CBS Early Show” and WNYC radio in food and travel segments. Her writing on food and travel has appeared in The Boston Globe, Gourmet, Food & Wine, Time Out New York, and US Airways magazine. Now back in New York, she continues to publish Appetite for China while teaching cooking classes at Whole Foods and The Institute of Culinary Education.
